Gynoid is part of a series of canvases that I started in 2017. In this series, I represent robotic human beings. It is a painting that questions the limited capacities that human beings have to function in the digital age the same way that we do in the natural environment.
Acrylic and oil pastel on paper

This work is about the power struggles that are fought within the art world. Compared to donkeys, horses are a symbol of power and class, but in the painting, the horse is seen from his stable with his head leaning out of a window. This represents that even being a successful artist, you will always be at the service of the art world. The title is taken from a few words by Francesco Bonami about the hanging horses by Maurizio Cattelan.
